The Senior Summit: where it all began…

On a blustery day several years ago on the grounds of Ashford Manor in downtown Watkinsville, we held a Senior Summit. Comprised mostly of founder Dave Stearns’ financial planning clients, 26 Seniors gathered and shared with us how they thought home care services could enrich, support, and even improve their lives.

What the story of the Senior Summit means is that Care to Continue® is a home care service provider designed by the very people who understand how critical such a service can be to the goal of continuing to live active, productive, fulfilling lives. Who better to help us understand the needs of the people we serve than the 26 Seniors who gathered on that day? They gave of their time and their experience generously and the founders of Care to Continue® learned a great deal that quite literally could not have been learned anywhere else.
To say that we took their suggestions and insights to heart would be an understatement.

Beyond the Summit…

We began with the standard of treating our clients like family. Our mission is to empower our clients to continue living the lifestyle they choose while remaining in their own homes. To support these diverse lifestyles requires that we invest in deeply understanding the clients that live them. With understanding comes compassion, and with compassion, friendship. Authentic companionship is a big part of what we do.

Our Three Core Principles

We derived three core principles from our work at the Summit to insure that Care to Continue® is your best choice for in home care…

Care to Continue® Listens.

It seems elementary that listening would be part of the spirit of such an individual-intensive business like home care. By far and away, the most important issue for our Summit participants was feeling that someone was listening. But listening to clients gets short shrift in the industry, often in favor of optimizing agency schedules or meeting the needs of other caregivers. We’re different. We’ve made listening a cornerstone in our business, and our caregivers will explicitly be trained to make active listening part of their duties. We genuinely care about learning what matters to you.

Care to Continue® Communicates.

When the need for care arises for a loved one, it can often create complex emotions and tensions among other members of the family. Along with the reality that a client’s care needs are unique and ever-changing, these circumstances can be sources of unnecessary conflict. At Care to Continue®, we realize that the key to minimizing negative feelings and maximizing a positive, collaborative environment where the client can thrive, is keeping everybody on the same page – clear, consistent communication. To this end, all clients and their families enjoy access to our secure, proprietary on-line Care Pages, where lines of communication are always open between clients, family members, caregivers, and Care to Continue® management.

Care to Continue® Invests.

Care to Continue® invests in our clients. We spend the time to get to know them and the time to design a Personalized Care Plan that specifically addresses their needs. And Care to Continue® also invests in our caregivers. We rigorously screen with 50 state background checks, pre-employment drug testing, and reference verifications – frankly, it’s difficult to join our team. But once a caregiver becomes a member of the Care to Continue® family, the investment is ongoing. There’s a Care to Continue® training program that helps our caregivers be better caregivers every day. All of our caregivers are CPR and first aid certified, bonded and insured. Our caregivers are simply the best, because you don’t deserve anything less.

Our Services

Care to Continue® provides compassionate caregivers to assist clients with tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation for errands, and limited personal care. Our services are available in Athens and the surrounding northeast Georgia communities, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, a Care to Continue® representative can always be reached, round the clock, to schedule services and complementary in-home assessments. We’re here when you need us.
